We hope to get our alliums in the ground the first two weeks of April. Most of them are day length sensitive, so the sooner we get them started, the better the yields will be. It will be another three months before the first of the alliums (our scallions) will be ready to harvest. They will be followed by pearl onions, Ailsa Craig, Red Long of Tropea and then storage varieties like Copra, Gunnison and Redwing.
We will begin seeding them next Wednesday. Lots of ’em. Leeks, storage onions, shallots, cipolinni, scallions, pearl onions, white onions, red onions, yellow onions. Shareholders are invited to join the seeding fun!
