Farming Frenzy and Flowering Strawberries

4001s_flowering strawberry pyoThis week we begin our summer CSA, and in two weeks, the new alternate week CSA begins. We have been planting and weeding up a storm. Last week celery, dill, our first tomatoes and eggplant, summer squash, fennel, more carrots, arugula, cilantro, lettuce, beets, and the second succession of sweet corn went into the ground. Potatoes got hilled (picture below), sugar snap peas trellised and mulched, strawberries (above) weeded and just about every crop got cultivated. Much more planting (including sweet potatoes!) and cultivating planned for next week and of course, lots of harvesting.
