Set aside a little time this week to spend in the Pick Your Own fields. You may pick on any CSA day – Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday, 2:00-7:00, not just on your pick up day. Lots to be picked and nibbled on there.

Here’s where to find the weekly What’s in the Share list including PYO offerings for the week.

Harvest husk cherries that have light brown papery husks and that have fallen on the ground.  They should look like this. There’s just a taste of husk cherries for everyone, and really, that’s what I think they are good for – a little snack to keep you going while picking all the other PYO crops. But if want to try something novel with these little guys, check out this blog post Three Husk Cherry Recipes where I learned that, in French they are called Amour-en-Cage (caged love)!
