Tomatina?

Perhaps this is an activity to add to our Farm Festival plans? For those of us who just can’t get enough tomatoes. Seriously, our third annual Moraine Farm Festival is coming together nicely. No need for food fights to liven things up. Looks like there will be something for everyone:

  • bike powered apple cider press
  • story telling
  • bingo-scavernger hunt
  • seasonal cooking demonstrations
  • mini farmers market with Moraine Farm veggies, Maitland Mountain pickles, Valley View Farm goat cheese, Iris Weaver’s herbal exlixirs and plant dyed scarves, Tomten honey and wax candles/sculptures
  • a presentation about Olmted landcapses by Alan Banks of the National Park Service
  • Walking tours of the Olmsted landscape
  • guided Edible Weed Walk through farm fields with herbalist Iris Weaver (small fee)
  • guided pollinator tour and exploration in the farm fields withTomten Beekeepers, Mary and Dave Mansur
  • challenge course activities at Project Adventure
  • free play at the cool Waldorf School’s woodland play area
  • snacks and lunch fare
  • craft activity building pollinator houses

Moraine Farm shareholders — Do you have something you’d like to offer to make our Festival even more festive? Music? Lawn games? Craft activities? Any jugglers among us? Fire breathers? Uni-cycle performers? Face painting? Contact me at ganderson@ttor.org,  and we will find a spot for you!
