Farm Festivities this Saturday

Moraine Farm Festival 2013_TTOR URLHere’s a more detailed schedule of activities at the Moraine Farm Festival, this Saturday, September 21. The Farm Festival runs from 10 AM – 3 PM. The entrance to the farm and parking will be at 719 Cabot Street. Maps of the property and location of the activities will be available at the entrance.

Scheduled activities
10:00 Walking tour of The Trustee’s Community Farm, Farm Manager Gretta Anderson
10:30 Moraine Farm Bingo/Scavenger Hunt, Essex County Greenbelt Association
11:00 Build a Native Pollinator House, Dave and Mary Mansur, Waldorf School
11:30 Walking tour of the historic Olmsted property, the Friends of the Olmsted Landscape
12:00 Edible and Medicinal Farm Weed Walk, herbalist Iris Weaver  ($10 fee)
1:00   Lecture by National Park Service Olmsted historian, Alan Banks
2:00   Native Pollinator Farm Walk, Dave and Mary Mansur, Waldorf School
2:15 Walking tour of the historic Olmsted property, the Friends of the Olmsted Landscape

Other activities that will be ongoing throughout the day
Challenge course fun with Project Adventure (10-1)
Lunch – farm fresh soup, bread and dessert at the Waldorf School (11-1)
Play – free play on the woodland play area and the sports court
Local farmers, producers and farm partners including  TTOR’s Moraine Farm Veggie Farmstand, Maitland Mountain Pickles, Valley View Farm, Tomten Beesworks, herbalist Iris Weaver and Beverly Bootstraps.
