Come and get it! Tomorrow (Friday, October 25) we will have a very nice farm share for you, ready to pick up any time between 1:00 and 7:00.
We’ve pretty much decided what will be in the share. Still a bit up in the air about the cauliflower – should we give it a couple more weeks to size up, or should harvest it now? (Find out what we decide tomorrow!) You can take a look at our plans for the share on the “What’s in the Share” page of the farm blog.
*Bring bags. If you can, bring a box – something the size of an apple box would be perfect.
*Do a little bit of menu and veggie storage planning. Look over the “What’s in the Share” list. Give some thought to what items you want to store for later use, what you need to eat up right away, and what you want to eat over the next two weeks. There are storage tip handouts in the CSA barn. You can also check out the storage tips on Shared Harvest CSA (my former CSA).
Each Fall Share pick up is TWICE the size of the summer pick ups. The share you get tomorrow will have $50 of organically-grown vegetables in it – that’s a lot of veggies – we think it will weigh right around 25 pounds.
We’re looking forward to sharing this terrific fall harvest with you!
