Wondering what’s in tomorrow’s share? I just posted the list over on What’s in the Share?
Cipolinni onions and storage kohlrabi might be new to you. Cipolinni are sweet, mild onions that are absolutely delicious roasted. TheKitchn has a couple of links to nice cipolinni recipes. You will also find a post with five ways to use kohlrabi. There’s no way around it – storage kohlrabi is big and weird-looking, but don’t be put off by appearances. You will need a big sharp knife to cut off one end of the bulb so it won’t roll away from you as you’re chopping it up. Farmsharechef.com has a picture of what I’m talking about, plus a recipe for kohlrabi slaw that looks pretty good.
In addition to your farm share, we’ve stocked the Farm Shop with carrots, cipolinni onions, shallots, Baer’s Best beans and the last of the Tomten local honey.
Farm share pick up is 1:00-7:00. Remember to bring a box and/or some bags for your share. Looks like it will be a wet day, so goulashes are probably a good idea. Thank goodness the temperatures will be above freezing! See you tomorrow!
