Gretta Anderson, Moraine Farm CSA Farm Manager, began volunteering in the fields at Waltham Fields Community Farm in 2002. Her enthusiasm for farming quickly got out of hand, and before she knew it, she was apprenticing on a 5-acre market garden in Dover, MA in 2004 and 2005. She managed her own market garden and CSA in Belmont, MA from 2006 to 2008. Following that she served as Field Manager at Brookwood Community Farm and in 2011 began managing Moraine Farm CSA for the Trustees of Reservations in Beverly.
Elizabeth Green, Assistant Farm Manager, comes to Moraine Farm after five years on different Boston-area CSA farms, and a background in public policy and advocacy. She first got interested in the good food movement when she worked on policy in Washington, DC, learning how much our food choices matter – to our health, to the soil, water & air, to farmworkers… don’t get her started! In the 2011 and 2012 seasons, she managed Apple Street Farm in Essex, and before then apprenticed for 2 years at Powisset Farm in Dover, Mass. (another TTOR special place!); her first season farming was with Gretta Anderson at the Belmont CSA. More about Liz in this article, Is Farming Young American’s Dream Job?
